The Tokyu Kabukicho Tower rises 48 stories above Shinjuku’s entertainment district and stands as a prominent new landmark in Tokyo’s dense urban landscape. As part of the architectural lighting concept, VENUS True Color was selected to define the visual character of several key arrival and transition zones.

Inside the entrance areas and elevator halls, VENUS True Color is integrated directly into the ceiling structure. The linear light traces the angular facets of the metal ceiling panels, emphasizing the three‑dimensional pattern of the surfaces. In corridors and lift lobbies, the luminaires define pathways and transitions with precise, evenly distributed light. A new pedestrian bridge has been constructed in a recently developed residential area, designed to integrate into the surrounding landscape while referencing this historical context.

The lighting design supports both the architectural expression of the bridge and safe use during nighttime hours. Particular attention was given to creating a calm and uniform appearance without disturbing the riverside environment.

The underside of the bridge is subtly illuminated by VENUS True Color 3D Optics. In the hotel’s communal bath area, the lighting concept is centred around creating a calm and immersive atmosphere that complements the soft curves and architectural gestures of the space. VENUS True Color IP67 in a warm 3,000 K colour temperature has been integrated throughout the bathing zones to support this intention with a continuous, indirect light presence.

Along the large, iconic arches that frame the windows and wall openings, VENUS TC IP67 follows the curvature with precision. Installed discreetly behind architectural recesses, the lightline accentuates the sweeping forms without appearing as a visible fixture. This indirect illumination softens the transition between water, wall and daylight, allowing the sculptural geometry of the arches to remain the visual focus while providing a gentle ambient glow.

In an adjacent bath, VENUS TC IP67 has been placed along the edge where water overflows into the basin. The uniform line of light emphasises the movement of the water surface and adds a subtle shimmer that enhances the sensory experience of the room. The luminaire’s seamless, dot‑free appearance allows the lighting to merge naturally with the material textures and curved pool outlines.
