Ropeid is a peninsula in Suldal, Rogaland, where a glass waiting pavilion designed by Jensen & Skodvin opens direct views to the surrounding fjords and mountains. In 2021, sculptural furniture elements made from recycled plastic boats from Ryfylke were added and arranged as clusters of abstract “mushrooms.”

VarioLED™ Flex IP67 is integrated concealed beneath these recycled objects to indirectly illuminate their undersides, creating continuous, homogeneous light lines that read as a soft glow rather than visible points. As one of the most recognizable structures in the region, its exterior combines advanced engineering with a visually striking geometry that defines the surrounding public realm.

VarioLED™ Flex IP67 is installed around the building’s perimeter, concealed beneath the protruding lip of the pre‑formed concrete seating. This placement creates a continuous, uninterrupted line of light that washes the concrete surface from below.
