On 11 of November, 14 students from the HAWK (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim) in Duisburg visited us for the first time with their professors Cornelia Moosmann, Andreas Schulz and Paul Walter Schmits-Reinecke.
The colorful group of students comes from the study courses lighting design, product design, design and architecture. As part of LED Linear's promotion of young talent, they were given a rare and interesting insight into the company. There were demonstrations embedded in a voyage of discovery through the production world. The students had the chance to walk through the production and take a look behind the scenes of a "Made in Germany" manufacturer. In a detailed guided tour, the students gained interesting insights into the areas of reel-to-reel production, indoor and outdoor luminaire assembly, potting, shipping and the lighting laboratory.
Particular attention was paid to the topics of miniaturisation, thermal management and the advantages of a 24 VDC power supply. At every step, the students were shown how processes are optimised in the company and how everything is continuously kept at the cutting edge of technology. To illustrate this, the goniophotometer "Robogonio" from Opsira was demonstrated in the lighting laboratory, among other things, as well as our tough test conditions in the climate laboratory.
LED Linear™ sees it as part of its mission to promote young talent and wants to give the students unique insights at all levels with this visit. As a highlight, there was a guest gift for each participant at the end - to touch, try out and take home.
