LED Linear™ News September 2021

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

The autumn season brings exterior lighting of urban spaces into focus, as the dusky and dark evening sky creates a perfect backdrop for lighting effects. Today's newsletter focuses on urban lighting, because vertically illuminated façades contribute significantly to the spatial formation of squares, street axes and buildings. Creating visual effects with linear light adds another dimension to architecture. By integrating light into a façade, it is possible to design an eye-catching building with clear, slender light lines.

Today, the spotlight is on our ADONIS IP67 luminaire, which blends into any architecture thanks to its minimalist aesthetics. It impresses with its well thought-out lighting solution. Thanks to its simple installation and high durability, it is perfectly suited for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications such as facades, urban landscapes, pathways, multi-storey car parks as well as halls.

The advantages at a glance:

  • High output up to 2,620 lm/m in a cross-section of (W x H) 20.5 mm x 25.5 mm
  • Robust IP67 rated, powder-coated aluminium profile with an IK10 impact resistance rating
  • Polyurethane encapsulation resistant to salt water, UV radiation and solvents
  • Clear end caps, intelligent cabling and mounting management with rear cable groove allow infinite light lines without dark spots
  • Available in five standard lengths in white, tunable white and RGB
  • Wide range of mounting accessories for horizontal and vertical mounting as well as adjustable wall brackets

Façade lighting
The Three Georges building in Duesseldorf is a pioneering refurbishment project in which existing office and retail space were completely refurbished and extended. The building was given a new façade that contributes to the modern, positive cityscape with an extraordinary LED installation. The basis for the graceful illumination is a specially developed façade concept. The façade construction consists of folded, vertical, approx. 75 cm wide aluminum strips. The folds of the opaque aluminium strips and the folds of the canopies were illuminated over a total of 14 floors with ADONIS along the entire façade. Almost 1.8 kilometres of light lines were used on the façade of the building, making it something special.

Entrance shopping centre
This is the main entrance to a large shopping centre, Nacka Forum in Stockholm. The architect had a clear idea of what the design of the final lighting solution would look like. For this, the ADONIS IP67 was used in custom lengths as a vertical light line.

Façade lighting
Lighting façades correctly is an art. Impressive façade lighting makes buildings visible in urban space and creates orientation. The uniform illumination of façades brings landmarks into focus and gives them a calm presence in the urban space.

Show Application note

ADONIS in-ground installation (indoor)
ADONIS is also ideal for indoor applications. The Canadian headquarters of Global Energy Drinks chose ADONIS HD15 IP67 and the SKYLLA True Color Top View to illuminate the corridors and walls and mimic all angles of this office space. A color temperature of 3,500 Kelvin was chosen for both applications. The ADONIS was chosen for its shallow recess depth, which allowed for easy in-ground installation in the floor and a seamless transition to the SKYLLA True Color on the walls.
