Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
to inspire with lighting solutions and to develop luminaires with high design standards is the great passion of our product designers and engineers. The ULTIMA luminaire family underlines this consistent path of high-quality architectural lighting. It convinces with miniaturisation, minimalist design, nano-lens technology, high visual comfort with high glare control, unique light brilliance and optics full of character. As we enter 2022, we wish you a brilliant outlook into the world of ULTIMA.
The advantages of the ULTIMA family at a glance:
Showcase lighting / Retail
Jewellery shops need a sophisticated lighting concept to showcase the valuable and precious pieces of jewellery in the shop window and in the interior. An eye-catcher must be created that makes passers-by want to linger.
Targeted task lighting is required here to transform the shop window into an optimal presentation area. The innovative ULTIMA-S NANO miniature luminaire, installed invisibly in the ceiling, fulfils this lighting task in the best possible way. With 220,000 nano lenses per cell, it achieves a dimension that no other conventional luminaire on the market can offer. Thanks to the luminaires' very good color rendering properties and high quality of light, the jewellery is presented in true colors and with the brilliance befitting them.
Citation Light On: "With its combination of warm white/cold white light colors (2,700 K and 5,000 K), the micro light decomposition looks like a multitude of small suns that make the gemstone facets glow with thousands of rays. Jewellery and gemstones literally sparkle at you when you walk past the shop window or display cases. You can already test this effect with an inexpensive, cut zircon”.
Wall washer / Art and Culture
The lighting of the exhibit walls was realised with the ULTIMA-S NANO. A total of 70 m of the minimalist-looking and invisible luminaire was installed in the projections. The asymmetrical optic puts the works in the spotlight with targeted illumination.
Accent lighting / Hotel
With its luminous light wall, the Marriott Hotel in Berlin presents a concentrated moment of architectural introspection in a highly dynamic environment - both inside and out.
The 30-metre high and 10-metre wide luminous light wall is vertically structured by an architectural grid in front of it. The wall itself consists of 72 individual panels made of expanded copper mesh that appear to glow from within thanks to LED lights mounted on the sides. Illuminated by grazing light, the panels suggest spatial depth across the entire wall. On closer inspection, the scene transforms into a diffuse image that defies precise interpretation. The visual impression varies depending on the position of the viewer in the room. Depending on the angle of view, different image compositions emerge that are reminiscent of moving cloudscapes. A lighting control system supports the installation with a variety of individual lighting scenarios.
This project shines with a technically sophisticated lighting. The ULTIMA-S Nano luminaire with narrow beam characteristics served as the light source. A total of 152 luminaires in special lengths were installed in the light wall. Since the entire installation depends heavily on the viewing angle, the luminaires had to be mounted in such a way as to create an absolutely uniform surface across the wall. The lighting design comes from the pen of Licht Kunst Licht and convinces with ULTIMA through a clear and homogeneous lighting atmosphere without disturbing effects.
General lighting / canteen
By consolidating to a shared location in Duisburg, LED Linear™ created room for a spacious new canteen for the company's staff. For the lighting task, the LED Linear™ design team was inspired by the HeartFelt® ceiling system from Hunter Douglas. The modern and innovative system consists of long felt lamellas that can be used to create the right ambience and precisely regulate the acoustics of any space.
In this way, the generous ceiling became a playground for our ULTIMA-S luminaire in no time at all. The luminaire family with a cross-section of only 10 mm x 13 mm fits inconspicuously between the linear ceiling slats. The luminaires could be placed specifically above the individual bistro tables and provide excellent illumination thanks to the innovative nanotechnology in minimal size. The entire room of 140 sqm is illuminated with less than 40 luminaires of 54 cm each. The light colour of 3,000 Kelvin was chosen for an inviting atmosphere and the nano optics with 25° and 60° for task lighting on the tables and general lighting of the room.
Contour lighting / Art and culture
In the Fraumünster church in Zurich, Switzerland, large parts of the lighting have been replaced by LED technology, such as under the rood screen and above the choir. The new lighting allows for different scenes and is significantly more energy-efficient.
With this project, the technical installations in the Fraumünster church were adapted to the requirements of today's use and flexibly equipped for the longer term. The diverse possibilities of use for different events in the church building could be massively expanded and improved after the implementation of the structural measures.
The lighting designers from Light On realised the project together with product designer David Weisser, and with the ULTIMA luminaire family, the world's first lighting solution in a historic building was thus created based on LED technology with nano lenses.Citation Light On: "Despite its minimal size, the ULTIMA-S easily manages to leave its atmospheric light traces even in a 12 m high vault. Its ecological footprint, on the other hand, is small: with 10 tonnes of CO2 saved per year and 94% less material used than conventional luminaires, it guarantees a more than pleasing eco-balance in this object. Thanks to the simple clicking into a profile by means of magnets, the installation and maintenance of the luminaires is also extremely simple."
Orientation lighting / Hospitality
Citation from Light on: "The small dimension of the miniature luminaire allowed ULTIMA-S to be installed in a slot only 18 mm wide and 15 mm deep without thermal problems using easy-to-mount clips. Thanks to its good glare control, it could be easily installed in railings and staircases in this project. When used in the roof gable, the Batwing optic provides homogeneous yet dynamic illumination. The color temperature of 2,700 Kelvin makes the wood and the white walls in the house shine with outstanding brilliance. Thanks to the ULTIMA's wide range of options and applications, it was possible to create a lighting design from a single source”.
