Today we are taking you into the world of the flexible VENUS True Color design light line. It opens up groundbreaking possibilities and unlimited freedom in lighting design for you, because the light line is ideally suited for use indoors and outdoors, for exceptional façade lighting and for accentuating organic shapes. It also functions as an architectural light line for mood or orientation lighting.
 
The advantages of the VENUS True Color family at a glance:

• It is available in two versions: the Top View version with 2D bends perpendicular to the illuminated surface. The 3D variant expands the limits of lighting design with its absolutely homogeneous light line that can be twisted or bent in three spatial directions and thus fits perfectly into the lines of modern architectural concepts.
• Both versions have the same cross-section, same colour location and comparable light output. This simplifies the specification process and, regardless of the particular installation, ensures uniform light lines of consistent intensity and size with any combination of the two versions.
• The opal polyurethane encapsulation provides excellent sealing, UV stability, chemical stability against air pollutants and abrasion resistance.
• True colour technology ensures optimal reproduction of the LED spectrum with only minimal colour shift.
• Luminaire mounting is end-to-end with no light gap, making it the perfect and homogeneous solution for infinite, straight or curved light lines.
• A comprehensive range of innovative accessories ensures easy installation on any substrate (concrete, roughcast, etc.) as recessed, surface-mounted or pendant luminaire.

Accent lighting - Orientation / Hotel
A new era of luxury has been created with the InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 (Tokyo, Japan). Guests enjoy uninterrupted harbour views from nautically inspired rooms and suites. Japanese gardens blend seamlessly with lively restaurants and bars, making this an urban oasis in vibrant Yokohama.

The staircase in the entrance hall is captivating with its striking curved and accentuated lighting. The light lines of the VENUS True Color family point the way in the staircase below the curved steps and are also located in the circular ceiling.
 
Accent lighting - Orientation / Office building
For the Canadian headquarters of Global Energy Drinks, iN STUDIO chose a combination of rigid and flexible luminaires. ADONIS in the rigid profile in the floor area and SKYLLA True Color (TV) along the walls to mimic the corridors and all angles of this office space. A color temperature of 3500 Kelvin was chosen for both types of luminaires.
 
Contour and accent lighting - Orientation / Office building
One of the key features of the Governor's House office building (Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, London, UK) is the central staircase that forms the spine of the project. The lighting designers at Cundall Light4 wanted to highlight this feature by focusing its shape and scale. To achieve this, a luminaire was needed that could follow the straight lines as well as the vertical and horizontal bends and curves, while producing a homogeneous line of light. On this basis, VENUS True Color 3D was selected, as this flexible LED luminaire fulfils this complex task.

During detailed planning, the small dimensions of the flexible design light line were integrated into a shadow gap detail that runs through the stair string at ankle height so that the light output could fill this cavity and gently illuminate the edge of the steps and landings. This was simulated in a mock-up with a section of the staircase to ensure that the desired lighting effect was achieved.

The possibility of using long linear series was used to minimise the number of drivers needed for installation, which were hidden in the stair stringer. Long individual lengths of VENUS True Color 3D were then fixed with small mounting clips so that they followed the details on site. The plugs and sockets of the luminaires, which are part of the standard scope, were interconnected to create long series runs and facilitate installation.  
 
Contour and accent lighting / Healthcare
Tokyo Medical University is a Japanese private university located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Since 1916, it has been one of the medical schools established in Japan before the Second World War.

To illuminate the entrance area of the building, the VENUS True Color in the 3D version was installed below the reception counter. Thanks to its three-dimensional bendability, the luminaire fits perfectly into the shape of the counter, thus creating an optimal lighting result. The indirect and dot-free light is a pleasant welcome for the students. It underlines the clear room structure and emphasises the modern character of the room.
