3-times awarded: Red Dot Award 2015 for LED Linear™

No less than three products of LED Linear™ inspired the 38-member jury of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 and were awarded as "Winner". VarioLED™ Flex AMOR, HYDRALUX™ and XOOTUBE™ 38 were able to convince the judges and deservedly received the coveted Red Dot quality seal. The international experts discussed and assessed each of the 4,928 entries from 56 countries. But only the designs that won over the jury with their quality and innovative power were given an award. Throughout the world and across different industries, Red Dot is considered the most prestigious award for outstanding design excellence.

VarioLED™ Flex AMOR
Here small is written in capital letters: VarioLED™ Flex AMOR is a miniaturized, opal encapsulated, IP67 protected, flexible LED design light line. It is above all the astonishing uniformity of light in combination with an unequaled small cross section of only 5 mm x 13 mm (W x H) that characterizes the AMOR and makes it an appealing and innovative product. She is horizontally bendable with a minimum radius of 3 cm. It also offers easy installation, high resistance (salt water and UV resistant) and the connection of individual luminaires with a virtually seamless light-to-light transition. AMOR is suitable for a variety of applications. Due to a depth of only 13 mm it can be easily integrated into particleboard with a thickness of only 19 mm. For applications in the areas of drywall, furniture, decorative accent lighting and exterior facade, it is ideal. Thereby no substructure is required for mounting the luminaire.

HYDRALUX™
With HYDRALUX™ the new freedom of design begins. Depending on the step measurement this luminaire can be cut to the desired length on site and then easily be assembled by adhesive bonding. It is field attachable on site from 62.5 mm to a maximum of 7.5 m – with only one electrical supply. The elegant and filigree flexible linear luminaire in IP67 is available with up to 1,637 lm/m. The white base profile with lateral fins and reflective surface distinguishes the HYDRALUX™ of other encapsulated and flexible products and ensures a very high light output. It is waterproof, dustproof and UV-protected by a polyurethane encapsulation and two lights can be joined without light gap, what makes it both haptically and visually appealing. The thoughtful concept and the small cross section of 12.5 mm x 3.5 mm (WxH) allow the use almost everywhere, such as in shop and retail lighting or applications in furniture and shelves.

XOOTUBE™ 38
XOOTUBE™ 38, a linear design LED pendant luminaire, is no retrofit solution, but something completely new. It combines industrial style with elegance and aesthetics. With 11 different colored caps, it offers maximum customizability. Through a defined pre-curvature of the luminaire, a length of almost 2 m with an absolutely straight form can be created. Absolutely homogeneous light and a beam angle of about 360° speak for themselves too. End caps, which are made from one piece to implement a wall thickness of just 1 mm, emphasize the high demands of this interior light. Its reduced and iconic form factor creates smart accents in lighting design, which is the reason why it is ideal for use at workplaces or in residential areas.

About the Red Dot Award
The internationally respected product competition will culminate in the Red Dot Gala in Essen on 29 June 2015. The glamorous award ceremony with more than 1,200 guests will be hosted by Professor Dr Peter Zec in Essen’s Aalto-Theater. The winning products are then presented for four weeks in the special exhibition “Design on Stage” before being included in the museum’s permanent exhibition.

Red Dot Design Museum Essen
With roughly 2,000 exhibits over 4,000 square meters, the Red Dot Design Museum presents the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design. You will also find the LED Linear™ winners there to touch and feel – from 29 June to 26 July 2015 in an impressive special exhibition in the midst of the historical industrial architecture of the Zollverein World Heritage site.
