After seven years of design and construction, the 2011 design by Oscar Niemeyer has now become a reality in Leipzig. The lighting design office Licht Kunst Licht sets the last major work of Oscar Niemeyer in scene. Niemeyer is a master of curves. This is exactly what the lighting designers from Licht Kunst Licht trace inside and out of the Oscar Niemeyer Sphere.
The lift takes the visitor to the bar area on the lower level. A ceiling cove light around the perimeter of the sphere traces the round floor plan and washes the curved white concrete shell with indirect light.
The LED Linear™ luminaires from the VENUS Side View series are installed in the circular ceiling cove of the entrance area, provide a sophisticated indirect lighting effect and have a guiding function. The Oscar Niemeyer typical red wall in the bar area, the bar counter and the shelves are staged with the luminaire family XOOLINE™.
